If the Engineering Change Management version is not stored in the transactions (i.e. Version is not part of the product dimensions), for version controlled items the actual ECM version is stored in a new field on both sales line and purchase line. The version can be overwritten manually. Purpose is to keep track of which version was agreed with customer or vendor. The version is not stored on the purchase order confirmation / sales order confirmation.
