    Unified Pricing Management Enhancements
    In This Topic

Enhances standard Microsoft Pricing Management features with several usability enhancements:

These features are part of the following products:

    Enable affiliations on non-retail orders

With affiliations prices and discounts can be controlled on retail orders. An affiliation can be linked to one or more price groups and one or more affiliations can be linked to a customer.

When a sales order is created the affiliations from the customer are copied to the sales order header.

Within pricing management it is possbile to select the affilation as one of the order header price attributes. In this way it controls which prices and discounts are applied on the order.

On the sales order header the user can edit the affiliations, on close of the form a price discount recalculation is executed.

When enabling this feature for non-retail orders, the affiliations button becomes available and the affiliations setup on the customer are copied to the order header.

    Business value

Price segmentation allows you to apply different discount levels to specific item categories based on the customer's segment. This helps ensure customers receive pricing that reflects their relationship with your business.

    Example Scenario

If a customer is categorized as an Electrician, you may want to offer them:

This ensures the customer receives more favorable pricing for the product categories most relevant to their trade.

    How to Set This Up

To implement this pricing structure, follow these steps:

    1. Create Affiliations
      • Create two affiliations:
        • Gold-Electric
        • Bronze-Construction
    2. Create Price Groups
      • Create two price groups with matching names:
        • Gold-Electric
        • Bronze-Construction
    3. Link Price Groups to Affiliations
      • Associate each price group with its corresponding affiliation.
    4. Assign Affiliations to the Customer
      • Link both Gold-Electric and Bronze-Construction affiliations to the customer.
    5. Create Customer Agreements
      • Set up two separate agreements.
      • Link each agreement to the appropriate price group:
        • Link the Gold-Electric price group to one agreement.
        • Link the Bronze-Construction price group to the other.

By configuring price segmentation in this way, you can tailor pricing based on both the customer's segment and the item category, ensuring accurate and strategic discounting.

Inherrit default values from trade agreement journal name

To simplify the creation of trade agreement journals, default values can now be inherited from the selected journal name when creating a new journal header.

    Overview

When working with Unified Pricing Management, the trade agreement journal header includes several key fields. Previously, these fields had to be manually entered each time a new journal was created. To improve efficiency and consistency, default values for these fields can now be defined at the journal name level. These values are automatically applied to the journal header when a new journal is created.

    Inherited Fields

The following fields are inherited from the journal name to the journal header:

    How It Works

    1. Set default values in the trade agreement journal name for the fields listed above.
    2. When you create a new trade agreement journal header and select a journal name, the system will automatically populate these fields based on the default values configured in the journal name.
    3. You can review and modify these values on the journal header if needed.

This feature helps reduce repetitive data entry and ensures consistent configuration across trade agreement journals.

Show Margin component price adjustments and discount agreement names in price details form

In standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations , the Price details form on sales order lines shows how the system calculates prices and discounts. However, it only displays the IDs of the Margin component price adjustments and discount agreements, not their names.

The Unified Pricing Management Enhancements module of the Essentials product extends this functionality. The Price details form now shows both the ID and the name of:

This enhancement makes it easier to identify the applied agreements and understand how the final price and discounts were determined.

If the Price details form is not visible, open Pricing management parameters in the Pricing Management module, go to the General tab, and enable the Enabled price details parameter.
