Setup

The basic setup for the Graphical Planning and Scheduling functionality can be found in:

Organization Administration> Setup > Graphical Planning

The forms in this folder are used to configure the behavior of the planning and scheduling functionality. This chapter explains the different settings and options.

When the form is opened the first time, the default setup is loaded automatically. Depending on the active GPS modules, some parameter fields might be hidden.

GPS modules setup	Displays the active GPS modules
Enable auto refresh	Periodic automatic refresh of the Scheduling overview
Scheduling
Schedule starttime	Time of day to start the schedule
Calendar endtime	Time of day to end the schedule
Scheduling on non-applicable resources

Planning - Project
Budget model	Forecast model	Selects a budget model. The budget model selected should also be used in the production orders and/or the project activities. Only orders/activities scheduled against this budget model are visualized.
Scheduling direction	Default scheduling direction	Planning forward schedules from a start date forward. (The standard for work centers / service with assignments that take only one day). 　Backward counts back starting at the date the assignment has to be finishedThis parameter will be used as the standard by posting an assignment as "planned"
Planning - Production
Finite capacity	Plan a job only when there is free capacity on a resource	This checkbox generally enables/disables finite capacity scheduling. (As a parameter to the D365FO scheduling engine). All rescheduling actions are performed with this setting. When scheduling with "finite capacity", a task will be moved to a "free" time slot. There it might not end up to be scheduled on the exact point in time it was dropped!
Move reservations	Move existing reservations backwards	E.g. if the user plans a job between two adjacent jobs, the last job will be moved backwards. During a drop of a production order, all tasks on the target work center with an end date greater than the drop date/time are scheduled "Forward from previous job" with preservation of the scheduling order.

Schedule references	Schedule sub-production orders, must be completed before starting main production order
Synchronize references	Synchronize start time of production order in relation to end time of sub-production orders
Finite property	Take into account finite properties of resources, defined on the calendar
Finite material
Suppress standard production color	Use the color of the order type instead of the random color per production order	Advised setup: yes
Colors

Non-supported capacity color	If any capacity reservation exists, for which the related GPS module is not active
Default calendar color	Background color of the default calendar

Planned orders - Unprocessed	MRP orders with status Unprocessed	Top line color
Planned orders - Approved	MRP orders with status Approved	Top line color
Production orders - Scheduled	Production orders with status Scheduled	Top line color

Production orders - Released	Production orders with status Released	Top line color
Production orders - Started	Production orders with status Started	Top line color
Production orders - Reported as finished	Production orders with status Reported as finished	These capacity reservations are generally deleted upon RAF

Shadow

Weekdays

Week days with a shadow on the calendar color in the scheduling overview

E.g. switch on Saturday and Sunday
