Create transfer order from sales order line

If no actual inventory is available yet for one of the sales lines, and another warehouse (store) other than the main warehouse (DC) of your store, you can create a specific transfer order for just that sales line, to force a replenishment from a selected warehouse to the warehouse of the selected order line.

When the users clicks on the Create transfer order menu item on the sales line he gets the possibility to specify:

From warehouse
To warehouse: initiated from the current sales order line
Ship and receipt date: initiated from the current sales order line
Sales quantity: initiated from deliver remainder of the current sales order line

The assumption is that for a specific sales order line a transfer order is created, containing only the related transfer line.

Note

For the creation of a transfer order, the related setup must be done first. For the source warehouse a default transit warehouse must be specified. And also the number sequences for transfer order must be defined.

Once a transfer order is created for a sales line, the related transfer order(s) can easily be found. From the sales line you can use the line menu-option Product and supply > View > Transfer orders.

From the transfer order itself, the transfer line contains a field named Sales order Reference (DYSSOERefTransId with a reference to the original sales order line (Salesline.InventTransId).

Also the transfer order header contains a reference to the related sales order. Often in the from-warehouse, these transfer orders should be packed per sales order. The sales order reference fields are useful to auto-select a different warehouse procedure for transfer shipment or transfer receipt. Use Edit query on work template or location directive.

Note

The Create transfer order function is not allowed when the sales line is marked against a fulfillment like a purchase order or transfer order. And if a sales order needs to be prepaid, the payment has to be received first.
