    Inherit default settings from warehouse

     A lot of settings in standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations are inherited to the sales order from general parameters or customer specific settings.

    Within the Dynamics Order Entry Optimization solution, we have extended the warehouse settings to be able to set specific values based on the selected warehouse.

    Warehouse management > Setup > Warehouse > Warehouses > tab Sales order optimizer

    Field Description
    Reservation

    Default: Standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations logic is applied to sales order header and lines

    If set to a different value this reservation setting is applied to the order header / line based on the selected warehouse

    Delivery date control

    Default: Standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations logic is applied to sales order header and lines

    If set to a different value this delivery date control setting is applied to the order header / line based on the selected warehouse

    Back order site Used as default value for the site in the Create backorder dialog. The create back order is a sales order line function.
    Back order warehouse Used as default value for the warehouse in the Create backorder dialog. The create back order is a sales order line function.
    Mode of delivery

    Empty: Standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations logic is applied to sales order header and lines

    Otherwise it will set the mode of delivery on the sales order header.

    When the warehouse is changed on the order line the mode of delivery is not updated.

    This feature has been implemented for counter sales stores where most goods will be sold over the counter and therefore will have the delivery mode pick up. See also the parameter Pickup mode of delivery.

     Note

    In standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations for Retail call center sales orders there is a validation on the combination of delivery method, call center, product and country of the delivery address. So it’s wise to setup the pick up delivery method on all the call centers, for all items and all countries
