The add order lines dialog is used by two features:
Adding multiple items to an order has been optimized: some checks are done before items are added and some checks are done when lines are created.
E.g. a blocked item will not be inserted at all but remains in the basket to inform the user that there is an issue with the item. The check for automatic reservations is executed while inserting the item into the order line and if an item cannot be reserved automatically it will then also remain in the basket.
When there is an issue with an item, the field 'included' will be disabled. The user has to take appropriate action to resolve the issue(s) and include the item again or remove the item from the basket. In some cases it's allowed to include the line even when there is an issue with it (e.g. when you want to deviate from the minimum order quantity), in that case the line will be added without any further checks. It's not possible to add blocked items, when manually adding of blocked items to order lines is also not allowed.
Items can only be added to the order when all items have been marked as included.
The setup of 'add order lines' controls wheher the basket pops up automatically when there are still items in it the moment the order is accessed and also whether the basket icon should be shown or not.
When the Scan adialog on sales orders (part of Order Entry Optimization) is enabled an additional Scan field is shown in the add order lines form and the scan actions can be used to add additional items to the basket. If only Dynamics Product Search is installed the scan option is not present and then the add order lines dialog is used to process issues for selected items in the Dynamics Product Search form and to create Special items for item from Dynamics Product Search form which do not exist in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations yet.
