Business value

Production inventory status has been introduced to meet the requirement of assigning an inventory status to materials and finished goods. Which is very useful if the materials meant for production are stored in the same warehouse from where they will also be traded.

Assumptions

• If storage dimension group has the flag coverage plan enabled on the inventory status, the inventory status will not be switched.
• Production inventory status functionality is added under AWHS (Advanced Warehouse Management), because it concerns the WHS inventory status. We expect that a complex production implementation will need AWHS anyway.
• Inventory status change, can have impact on the next MRP (Master Planning) run.
• The status change can be triggered by the following actions:
  - Creating  PO (production order) manually
  - Creating PO from a sales order
  - Firm a planned PO
  - Pegged supply sub-PO through estimation of the main PO

Warehouse management > Setup >  Inventory > Production inventory status setup

Field	Description
Priority	With this field it is possible to determine the search sequence. The functionality will start at the lowest number and move up until it finds a match with the concerning query.

Site	The Site for which it is applied.
Warehouse	The Warehouse for which it is applied.
Inventory status finished goods	The status that will be applied for finished goods if the production order meets the specified criteria in the query.
Inventory status material	The status that will be applied for the materials if the production order meets the specified criteria in the query.
Edit Query	The query screen where you can set the criteria that must be met to apply the concerning status.
Moven up	The ability to adjust the priority by moving certain rule up or down.

The ability to adjust the priority by moving certain rule up or down.
